Artists get their inspiration from everywhere. Once it’s just a raindrop, the other day it turns to be a great master of art and creation.
I came across the beautiful album: “Paul Gauguin - in den Museen der Sowjetunion” (Aurora- Kunstverlag, Leningrad, 1989) and fall in love with the way they presented art of this absolutely unique and timeless artist.
One particular Gauguin’s painting - Aha Oe Feii? or Are You Jealous? - stayed with me for longer, inspired me…
Trying to catch the colors was a great fun! And making an abstract piece from just a very small part of this beautiful masterpiece of art - was a challenge I just needed to take.
I played with colors and structures as well as the media.
I knew I wanted to play only with this particular part of this beautiful painting as those colors were just hunting me for days!
I literally played with this for days.
I used crayons, pastels or pens…
Needed to move into the living room as the temperature in my studio dropped to -5!
UPS!
And as you can see on the making-of-pictures the Sezane was actually supporting me during the whole process ;) Literally!
I consider myself definitely a #sezanelover
So here it is!
I came to the end of this trip when I reached the watercolor pans and acrylic pencil.
You can see the result of those days below.
BTW I don't really know why I signed it with my artistic name but I just came out of my deepest journey to my focus-forrest.
HOPE YOU LIKE IT!
